A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff might be one of the corniest movies out there (and I love it), but it has this message that kind of stuck with me.

“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”

Life is going to push you down and it’s going to test you every day. Some days will be harder than others. Some days will make you want to crawl into a hole and live there forever. It will make you lose hope for a bit, and it will make you hurt.

Life will also make you laugh and smile. It’ll give you experiences that not any one experiences but yourself. It’ll bring people into your life that will have some impact on you, big or small. Some will stay permanently, others are meant to leave. Everything has a hidden meaning, and discovering meanings can be the most enlightening and exhilarating feeling in the world. It’s what gives each of us that feeling of purpose.

Even though deep down we all know the tough shit in life makes us stronger, fear of feeling the pain more than once keeps us from experiencing the greatest joys in our existence. Fear hinders us from listening to our gut and keeps us in a box.

Like everything in life, a sense of purpose comes from experiences- some tough, others beautiful. Ironically there is no good without bad and bad without good. We need both to move us along. There is always another day, another time, another feeling, another person, another moment. Everything is temporary.

No outfit tonight, but a new one will be up tomorrow.

Thanks for reading.

This is so great, Olivia!! ( I also love that movie, jus’ sayin’). But I often times won’t take something on just because I’m afraid of the failure. But thank you for the motivation that it isn’t always about the end goal, it’s about the journey, and that alone can be a success 🙂
