Just Be

Do you ever sit and just be? I’m talking no TV, phone off, no music, no computer, nothing. Laying down with just yourself and your thoughts with only outside noises fading in and out.

Our society has this mindset of “go-go-go” and “do-do-do” but never “just be.” The only way to soak in everything that’s happened, every emotion you’ve felt, every moment you’ve experienced is to reminisce for a short time. I like to do this at least once a week. Whether it’s writing my thoughts down, or just sitting or laying down and thinking about my last week, last month and where I am right now.

I’m a big believer in living in the moment. But I’m also a big believer in growing. Life changes, as do we. We have to mold ourselves to its ever-changing paths and events. The only way to truly grow is to notice the reactions and actions that happen because of our reactions and actions. In order to become the best version of ourselves, we have to continually acknowledge our faults and learn from them while withholding any judgements of ourselves. It’s a hard balance to maintain.

A good thing to also keep in mind:

Most answers come when we’re not trying to find them.

Well said. We need to really just stop once in a while, and actually enjoy what we have rather than just aiming for more and more. It is only then we realise that we have achieved a lot more than we think we have.

This post is SO necessary!!! Living in the New Jersey/New York area it’s insane how fast-paced our lives are expected to be that we never really live in the moment. We’re always living for tomorrow or next week or even next year! This is such a great reminder! So thank you! And your outfit is so adorable! x
