I am the type of person who is always working towards something. Whether it’s meeting the right person, getting my favorite Thai food dish (it’s pad thai..I’m original), meeting a career goal, writing a blog post, making friends…whatever it might be, once I set my mind to it, I get it done.
Setting goals has changed my life. There are three reasons why this is the case:
- I’ve grown and matured into a hardworking, productive individual about things I really care about.
- I’ve learned more about myself than I ever had before.
- I’ve met so many amazing individuals along the way who have influenced and changed my life.
Some of you may not know this, but moving to New York City was my dream. I’m not talking the cliche “Oh, big city, big dreams girl” – I genuinely love this city more than any other city in the world. And I made it happen in less than a year because I put the thought into motion – and thanks to my kickass job.
I started a blog, a blog where I write my every thought. I put myself out there. I’m vulnerable and it’s empowering. I learned how to pose in front of a camera and explore my style. Fashion is my creative outlet and has become a huge part of my life.
I have met a lot of people in just the past couple months. I put myself out there almost every day, whether it’s through my job or through mutual friends. I have amazing roommates and a network of great people in just two months.
Every time I set a goal, I give myself the time and patience, but I always make it happen. Overall I am a happier, more productive person and I can’t wait to see where I go next. I believe in myself and the potential I have to affect this world in a positive way.
Speaking of amazing people I met in NYC, I met this sweet photographer Megan as she was passing through the city from LA. We had a really fun shoot together and shared parts of lives along with a delicious meal – now I have another friend in LA whenever I visit!

This is inspirational!
I have been so out of focus lately. And at the end of the day, nothing is in place.
Thanks for the motivation. I will definitely set up goals. And get work done!
Lots of love,
Shahnaz
